December Holiday Celebrations

Many seniors find themselves far away from their loved ones. At Vida Senior Centers, we see holidays as a time of celebration, love, hope and caring for one another. For this special time, Vida makes sure to keep the holiday spirit alive. This means we prepared a season full of hybrid celebrations, events, music, art and other entertainment. Since Thanksgiving, we have had multiple occasions to celebrate each other together.

Vida’s seniors had a wonderful time at Mayor Bowser’s 23rd Annual Senior Holiday Celebration. Thank you so much to Mayor Bowser, the Department of Aging and Community Living, Director Eduardo Perdomo, and the Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs for DC for such a great time. The seniors enjoyed all the entertainment and most importantly sharing smiles while interacting with other senior communities.

Vida Senior Centers loves giving back to the community. For the holiday festivities Vida’s Golden Years Choir (ESP: Coro Años Dorados), sponsored by AARP, performed at the Intergenerational Christmas Event organized by Dialogue on Diversity. Children and adults were entertained by Vida’s choir singing beautiful holiday songs.

For Christmas holidays we again met up with Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs to prepare Christmas boxes for DC families and Vida’s seniors. The seniors greatly enjoyed all the celebrations and so did all of us.

We work closely with you and carry out research to understand your needs and wishes.
